We are pleased to formally announce that 6 brilliant writers have joined the Masobe Books family.<\/p>\n

These 6 writers share Masobe Books\u2019 ethos of creating and publishing an exciting and eclectic body of work (including literary fiction, genre fiction, urban noir, speculative fiction, and short fiction). The writers and their books (which will be published between now and Q4 2020) are:<\/p>\n

    1. Adaobi Tricia Nwaubani<\/a>, the award-winning novelist and arguably one of Nigeria\u2019s finest writers, has partnered with Masobe Books for the Nigeria rights to her 2 novels, \u2018I Do Not Come To You By Chance\u2019 and \u2018Buried beneath the Baobab Tree\u2019. She is also a journalist and essayist (with essays in The New Yorker, The New York Times, The Guardian and more).<\/li>\n
    2. Chimeka Garricks<\/a>, one of Nigeria\u2019s best-kept writing secrets, returns after a 10-year gap from his first novel. This time, he mixes lots of music with his distinctive storytelling magic in a memorable collection of short stories, \u2018A Broken People\u2019s Playlist\u2019.<\/li>\n
    3. Michael Afenfia<\/a>, the author of 3 critically-acclaimed novels, has adapted his popular series, \u2018The Mechanics of Yenagoa\u2019 into a full-length novel (of the same name, retaining the promise of the same wild and suspenseful ride).<\/li>\n
    4. TJ Benson<\/a>\u00a0\u2014 remember the name \u2014 is the present-future of writing. His stories have appeared in Catapult, Transition, and more. \u2018The Madhouse\u2019, his richly-written and dreamscape-y first novel, will be published in Nigeria by Masobe Books in 2020.<\/li>\n
    5. Angel Patricks Amegbe<\/a>, poet and psychologist, debuts with \u2018The Days of Silence\u2019 a deceptively gentle coming-of-age novel about the resilience of a family of women.<\/li>\n
    6. Othuke Ominiabohs<\/a>, playwright and novelist, will take readers on an intense and spiritual journey in \u2018Aviara\u2019, a novel about the travails of Anthony Mukoro, the flawed hero from his first and well-traveled novel, \u2018Odufa\u2019.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
