What is love, anyway? Is it the shy laughter shared over a book? The longing in a lingering gaze? The spark of a new crush, or the slow, steady burn of friendship blooming into something more? This Thing Called Love is a collection of bite-sized stories that explore the many shades of love—from the awkward first encounters to the heart-fluttering confessions that change everything.

In The Art of Falling, Ada’s hesitance to fall in love melts under Femi’s charm. With witty banter and perfectly-timed cookies, he’s determined to win her heart, even if it means rewriting their friendship. In Dear Diary, Dumebi, the endearing, clumsy girl, finds herself unexpectedly in the spotlight of the school’s most popular boy. Public serenades and heart-thumping moments capture the whirlwind of a first crush—and all the messy feelings that come with it. In God Abeg, love faces a harsh reality when Ivie and Ola confront the toughest decision of their lives. With a genetic obstacle between them, they’ll have to discover if love can truly conquer all when the heart wants one thing, but life says another.

But there’s more—This Thing Called Love is brimming with even more sweet, messy, and heartwarming moments that define what it means to love. From the first shy glances to the bittersweet choices, each story is short, heartfelt, and full of emotion, capturing all the ways we fall, stumble, and rise in love.

Perfect for anyone who enjoys short, sweet, and deeply relatable love stories, this collection will take you through the highs, lows, and everything in between—one delightful moment at a time.
