One bus. One bridge. No way out.

When a public bus stalls in the choking heat of Lagos’s Third Mainland Bridge, what begins as an ordinary traffic jam descends into a nightmare. A strange sickness grips the passengers—screaming, coughing, convulsing—until bodies start to drop. Then rise.

As panic spreads and the bridge is locked down by military forces, survivors are forced to confront a new kind of terror: the infected are changing—fast, violent, and no longer human.

Among the trapped are a virologist with a buried secret, a journalist chasing more than a headline, and a boy whose silence may be the key to it all. But something else is lurking—something orchestrated, something not meant to be escaped.

Fever Bridge is a relentless speculative horror thriller that pulses with dread, paranoia, and the raw terror of being abandoned in plain sight. Once you’re on the bridge, there’s no turning back.

Akpoebi Nora Ojeke

Akpoebi Nora Ojeke got her first degree in chemical/petrochemical engineering from the Rivers State University of Science and Technology, Port-Harcourt, Nigeria and a master’s in petroleum engineering from Herriot-Watt University in Edinburgh, Scotland. She is married with two kids and when not working or spending time with her family, she visits her garden, where she nurtures her plants and enjoys nature. Blessed with a vivid imagination, writing has been a hobby of hers from childhood.

“A zombie apocalypse in Lagos?! Hell yes! Akpoebi knows how to tell a cinematic story—perfectly manicured sentences, immersive sensory detail, and a plot that tightens before hurling you headfirst into breathless, unrelenting action.”

—Adelehin Ijasan, author A Dying Giant in the Palm of Your Hand

“Ojeke takes us on a ride through terror and chaos like never before, redefining horror with razor-sharp suspense, a pulse-pounding sense of danger, and a Nigerianness that is unmistakable at every turn. The story pulls us into a smart, thrilling, and unforgettable world where the living becomes the hunted and survival is not guaranteed.”

—Nana Sule, author of Not So Terrible People

“If you've ever been stuck in traffic on Third Mainland Bridge and imagined the carnage that would happen if zombies started pouring out of a danfo—this is a love letter to you.”

—Dare Segun Falowo, author of Caged Ocean Dub

“Fast-paced, thrilling and electrifying. Fever bridge will have you at the edge of your seat eagerly trying to find out what happens next. Ojeke masterfully delivers a suspenseful page-turner that immerses the reader in a nail-biting day in Lagos.”

—Ciku Kimeria, author of Dance of the Monkeys
