Maryam Abdulkarim is a Nigerian writer and journalist. She writes in the same way she observes life: with nostalgia, awe, and a curiosity for the unknown. Maryam’s short fictions have been published in Afrocritik, Kalahari Review, Wensum Journal, Usawa Literary Review, and elsewhere.

Maryam finds that when she is not at work or sleeping, she can be found in a café somewhere in the city, drinking tea and watching people, then with her hands on a keyboard, giving answers to the things about them that make her wonder.
