Nairobi has secrets. So does everyone at this engagement party.

When Mwende, daughter of the city’s most infamous crime lord, is poisoned at her own engagement dinner, private investigator Wanjiru Mdaku is pulled back into a world she has spent years avoiding.

Behind the champagne flutes and designer outfits, old rivalries simmer, friendships fracture, and no one is quite who they claim to be. Part sharp social comedy, part twisting whodunit, Dance of the Monkeys dives into Nairobi’s glittering elite, where old money meets new scandal, love triangles outlast their expiry dates, and the most dangerous people in the room are always the ones you trust the most.

The glamour hides a web of betrayal, ambition, and grudges that refuse to stay buried. And the closer Wanjiru gets to the truth, the more dangerous the game becomes. Because in Nairobi’s elite circles, loyalty is fragile, secrets are currency, and the next victim is never far behind.
